Introducing our New line of hand planed, Norway Hard Pine Farm Tables.
Norway Hard Pine, is abundant here in Maine. Back in the 1700's-1800's it was used in house building mostly it seems, for floors, due to it's harder grain (harder and more durable than White Pine)
Today, in modern times it is harvested and sent out of the country for use in chip board and decking. We have been finding Norway Hard Pine in our search for reclaimed boards over the past 20 years, and now are sawing this ourselves for our table tops.
To keep with the old feel and how this wood was used in history, we hand plane each Norway Hard Pine table top to give it that hand worked look that goes so well with the style and craftsmanship of our tables.
Tables made with this wood for the tops and our Hard Maple bases and Curly Maple bread board ends are still our high end, refined farm tables, we really like using this sustainable wood from our Maine forests.

For our Budget conscious Customers
Tables ranging from $1,950. (5' x 36") to $2,950. (9' x 38") other sizes in between & up to 12' call for pricing.
We are excited to be offering custom size farm tables built entirely from our own Norway Hard Pine (NHP) wood.
These tables will be built with the same traditional joinery, in our own wood, direct from our sawmill.
The difference is that the base and legs will also be done in our NHP. This wood is harder than White Pine and will hold up nicely on the base. The same high quality catalyzed lacquer and stain choices are used as well.
These tables will feature a smooth top, and will be available with two styles of legs. A classic tapered leg and a more modern square leg. (Other leg styles, and hand planing on the top, will be offered at an additional cost. Remember, this is meant to be a budget friendly table without all the bells and whistles as some of our other tables, but still be a handmade, custom table.
